Bringing the Ancient Science of Yoga to Light...

It is time to allow its deeper roots and wisdom to propel us forward in creating peace, love, harmony, and liberation!

Swami Kriyananda Kanda from the Kriya yoga lineage and I, Prema Devii from the line of Shrii Shrii Anandamurti, invite you to attend our free lectures.

It is our aim to create dialogue and heightened understanding of the profound impact yoga has on the body, mind, and spirit. The alignment, balance, healing,  centeredness, clarity, freedom,  and pure joy that arises from an intelligent, mindful practice will be explained in terms of the biology, physiology, and psychology of the body-mind connection, how the alignment of these two, fills the cup of spirit and nourishes the soul... May we drink to that! CHEERS :)

Poetry Share...feel free to post a divinely inspired piece!!!

 AMRITA
transcend language
with the tongue
to the honey

dew from the petal
of god
the beloved

floral essence
and
 holy threads
of a being who has held
a quieter presence

meeting stillness
the sweetest friend

holding that flower
awaiting ones knock
 the door opens
and
the tongue tastes

 elixir of heaven

drop of ecstacy
upon the sentient mind

                                                                                               Prema Devii 2012

INTERNAL ALCHEMY

how can you forget
to be YOU
YOU who are meant
to evolve
from physical matter
to pure radiating light
Yeah YOU...do you remember
that voice that sings
and
those feet that dance
the universe into being

this is where
the shamans tread
and
 vistas open
 upon
the shadowed landscape
 of this life

do YOU remember
 from where YOU have come
to where YOU will go
and where YOU shall be

how can you not
 allow that light
to transform YOU
from the crude
to the subtle

HOW YOGA IS AFFECTING YOU!!!
TESTIMONIALS

The Best Yoga Class -

Trish Pascual's yoga class at 24 Hour Fitness is always a joy!  Her style of teaching is informative, inspirational, and caring.  I always learn something new.  She always brings me to the remembrance of the "breath" which is the foundation of life and peace.  Trish is very specific in demonstrating the yoga postures and transitions seamlessly from one posture to another.  She inspires me to not compare myself to others and to forgive myself.  That's very freeing.  At my last class, she commended the class for serving ourselves by taking yoga that we will be able to serve others.  I always feel cared for in her class.

Trish,

Just to express my appreciation:

I have a chronic bad neck, and yoga helps to keep the pain at bay.
Tuesday , I was experiencing sharp pain in my cervical vertebrae when I
came in to the 9am class.  By the time the class was over, the pain had
disappeared and my neck felt great and continues to feel great.  I'm
thankful that you are the teacher you are and fell fortunate to be able to
practice yoga under your guidance.

Thank you,

Joe Zizzi

So, Trish,

Another Tuesday morning pain in my neck, not quite as bad as last week--
I'd attempted to emulate your routine from last Tuesday, in my home
workout, but not with the same success--  and another hour of yoga that
totally wiped out my discomfort.  Thank you.

Welcome!

Welcome everyone!
This is the beginning of my official PremaYoga Blog where I can offer
ongoing dialogue with you on yoga, a whole body, mind, and soul/spirit
system brought to us from India over 5,000-7,000 years ago!  This blog is to
bring the ancient wisdom and knowledge inherent in yoga to the forefront,
such that the postures may never be misconstrued as the end goal of yoga.
As been said before, the postures are just one spoke of the wheel of the bicycle
that is yoga.  To demystify yoga as an ancient science of health, healing, fitness,
and conscious/spiritual development, is my purpose here.  It is also to create a
better network or community, a "sangha" of yoga practitioners amongst whom
we can continue to learn, enrich our lives, and support our individual practice!
May many more come to truly appreciate yoga as an effective and meaningful
system or tool, as it was transferred to us as a means to liberation.  Liberation
from the bondage and suffering of the physical through the awakening and
ever deepening connection to the creative source behind it all!
                                                                              Namaste,
                                                                              Prema Devii
